I never ceased to be amazed by the ingenuity of artists who can make something both beautiful and practical out of just about anything. Forget sheep, llama, alpaca, rabbits and goats, imagine knitting a luxurious cap, scarf or sweater made from yarn from a buffalo! It's not inexpensive, but it certainly is a conversation piece. Check it out at American Buffalo Products.

I love...love...love buffalo yarn. You're right about the price, but it is so awesome...very soft and yummy. I had done some research on it and found that it has to be harvested after the animal is deceased....they are to mean to be sheared, and it is only the chest hair they use. Buffalo is a very popular meat these days so I'm know that they are not just killed for the hair and hide.I only bought a small amount...enough for a narrow lacy scarf....but hope the cost will go down someday. Also, I live where the buffalo roam.... :o)
