Plymouth Rocks!

Yesterday felt like Christmas in May. First, another huge box of beautiful yarns arrived, compliments of Plymouth Yarn Co., Inc. There was so much yarn in the box that I couldn't arrange it in a way that you could see all of the skeins at the same time, but trust me when I tell you they are awesome! Please be sure to visit their website and keep them in mind when you're buying more yarn!

I also like to expend special thanks to Ellen G., also from PA who sent the following beautiful yarns that also arrived yesterday.

Okay, so far PA and NE have weighed in. Let's see if we can get yarn from every state in the US. But then why stop there? Let's see how many continents we can claim as supporters of this ministry. Just imagine how many women will be helped by these generous donations. I can't thank you guys enough.

very cool, Syd -- what will you do with all that yarn?

Mary, I'm so glad you asked! Before the weekend is over, I hope to post a picture of SKM's signature "Joseph's coat of many colors" prayer shawl. (I really do need to come up with a name!). Anyway, I'm planning to use all these glorious yarns to knit the shawls for sexual assault victims.

I'd love to try to pull together a monthly knit-in (sort of like what we did for the scarves at Christmas) for those of us in the Richmond area to get together to work on the shawls. I've come up with a way to make this work logistically that allows many women to work on these collectively now - the same way I hope to once the center is built.

This invitation is extended to other knitters in the Richmond VA area as well.
